Customer Reviews

Peter demonstrates his great song writing ability, magnificent guitar playing, and, above all, a fantastic joi de vivre with this collection of tunes. Girl in the Hi-Tops is a fun, fast paced joyous song that inspires laughter and introspection and is representative of Peter’s character (and is my three young daughters’ favorite track). Peter’s poetic spirit and thoughtfulness are present throughout - highly recommended! This release captures the energy that Peter brings to his live performances - on stage or underground!

It just grows on you

Thi album is infectious. Peter Mulvey seems like a poet turned songwriter, which works well for him. Thoughtful, provacative lyrics, covering the efforts to destroy the 'Great Society', to a summer afternoon on Milwaukee's Brady Street. My favorites on this album are 'Abilene', You and Me and the Ten Thousand Things', 'Marty and Lou', 'The Fix Is On', and Lila Blue. After a few listens, you'll wonder why you are singing, 'its all about the monkies' (Track 9).

The Knuckleball Suite

So worthy of these 5 star ratings. Peter Mulvey at his very best..sublime, a real joy from start to finish. Cannot give enough praise to this performer. If you like the preview samples, you will absolutley love this cd.

Flat broke and in need of immediate cash to entertain his visiting brother, Mulvey starting playing his guitar in the subway. He supported himself that way...
