Big Score for the The Big Country

How this score and the movie to have been so unrecognized or forgotten is amazing. This is beautiful and inspiring music which not only fits but, to a large part, helps make this classic Western movie. This may be the classic example of "they don't make 'em like that anymore". Gregory Peck, Charlton Heston, Burl Ives, Jean Simmons, Carroll Baker, and Charles Bickford were the stars for director William Wyler. Go back and find this movie and turn up the sound!

England's Philharmonia is a relative youngster among orchestras, having arisen out of the ashes of London's disrupted orchestral life in the wake of World War II.
