Nightmares and purity

Extremely sure of their instrumental and evocative means, Esben and the Witch offers on this fourth LP an incredible evolution and expansion of their nightmarish summoning. Drum and guitar gets like stones and Rachel's singing has never been so inspired and eerie. One could be scared at first by the length of the songs but it's a declaration of intents. This album requires attention. As the incredible talent of these musicians.

Named after a Danish fairy tale and crafting fittingly eerie and bewitching music, Berlin via Brighton, England’s Esben & the Witch features guitarist/keyboardist Thomas Fisher, electronics/guitarist Daniel Copeman, and vocalist/percussionist Rachael Davies. The trio formed in 2008 when Fisher convinced Copeman to make the music he was working on available to the public, and the pair drafted Davies to become their singer. The band's live act drew attention, as did their self-released 2009 EP 33....
