Death Metal well executed

I am posting this review simply because one of the few reviews already posted does a poor job of describing the album as well as the music.

The album can best be described as technical death metal with thrash and progressive elements. The band executes wonderfully from track to track. By all means ignore any review likening the album or band to "screamo". The vocals are guttural and the riffs are brutal. Everything here is fairly standard for technical death metal with the standout exception being the level of execution. Ultimately the album is about on par with their last one, Cosmogenesis.

The talent just keeps oozing.

I have their first 2 and this definitely does not disappoint.

Pretty good. :)

I heard one of their other albums a while back and didn't care for it, but with this new album I thought I'd give them another chance. Bought this album and ended up liking it quite a bit. The band themselves have few qualities in their music I personally dislike, but for the most part, write great music. This album makes me want to re-listen to the previous album again to double check whether or not I like it. There is no doubt, whether you listen to this style of music or not, that these men are extremely talented musicians.

Kummerer spent the ensuing years composing the songs that would comprise Obscura's 2006 debut album, Retribution, bypassing the traditional extreme metal process of distributing demos and...
