iTunes Review

For their sixth album, Tegan and Sara reunite with Death Cab for Cutie's Chris Walla for a sharper, more electronic-focused record. It came at a fitful time: Sara was getting divorced (as she sings on “Night Watch”) and the twins were recovering from the worst period of their relationship. Their respective writing styles are at their most polarized—Tegan writing taut ragers like “Northshore” and “The Ocean,” and Sara penning flinty anthems like “Arrow” and “Alligator Tears”—but they're still united by their incisive takes on emotional turmoil and the tightly wound nature of their diverse approaches.

I am in love!

I have always loved Tegan and Sara but this album is so mature and clean... I don't think I could have asked for anything more. Bravo, Tegan and Sara.

Fuller sound and more upbeat

I love Sainthood. Let me just put it out there. It's a really great album.
Each song has a full and textured sound to it, and there is a lot of energy in the music, in general. It's true, this album is missing the slower ("folkier") acoustic songs of past, but I don't think the album needed that. Adding an acoustic song into this album would have sounded incredibly out of place. Also, if you really miss hearing a slower song, just go listen to another album of theirs. Tegan and Sara are allowed to change the music they want to play and release, and that's fine by me.
Another thing about Sainthood is that the majority of the songs are Sara's this time around. Seven out of the 13 are hers, in fact. This helps explain the more "experimental" sound to the album. Tegan has always made the more straightforward rock songs, and Sara's are often really intricate and organized quite differently.
Overall the album is great. If you want to hear some really fresh and different music, buy the album. It's worth the money.

Favorite Tracks: Alligator, Hell, On Directing, Someday, Northshore, Red Belt, The Cure (Basically the entire album.)

It will Take me Awhile.

Dont get me wrong but i do miss the old sound that you wouldnt hear anywhere else, the "Tegan And Sara sound" But i dont feel like this album has it. Its a weird sound, a sound that's really hard for me to get attached to. I miss songs like "call it off" and "relif next to me" or even "like O, Like H" That accustic sound that they had. Im not much into this "poppy" version. I am and forever be a Tegan and Sara fan but this album is the only album thats taken me this long to get attached to. i've been a fan since so jealous came out. I guess i just have to get used to it, its new, it takes a little while. I LOVE TEGAN AND SARA! songs to love on this album:
Sentimental tune and someday..i also like the extra tracks, Wrists and Light up

An award-winning, internationally successful duo comprising identical siblings Tegan and Sara Quin, Tegan and Sara first burst onto the Canadian music scene in 1998, when they earned the highest score in history at Calgary's Garage Warz competition; their quick rise didn't stop, for their melodic acoustics and charming stage personas led to a slew of dates with Sarah McLachlan's Lilith Fair that same year and a record deal with Neil Young's Vapor Records in April 2000.
