Beautiful Scores.

This music is beautiful. The score to On Golden Pond has been a favorite of mine since I was a child. I am not sure what this first review is focusing on, but you should ignore it. Dave Grusin is a composer. Just because he doesn't wear a powdered wig doesn't mean he can't write beautiful music. Movie scores can be great musical works just as anything written for the stage was in other classical periods. This compilation is proof of that fact.

A great album

I bought this album way back when it first came out and to this day it's one of my favorites. I don't care that it's movie themes. The musicianship is outstanding. I own and operate a recording studio, and hear all sorts of music. To me this is top rate and would highly recommend it. I'll bet the other person who rated this album so low doesn't like movies either.

Review the MUSIC!

I am tired of reviews like the one for this album that focus NOT on the music but on philosophical concerns about "selling out" or compilations albums. Some of the pieces on this recording are masterful and moving; Grusin is a consummate professional. Ignore the music snobs and appreciate each composition for its own merit.
