Red Army Choir: Russian Favourites

I only purchased the 'classics' -- "Dark Eyes", "Moscow Nights", and "Volga Boatmen's Song". Agree that the volume was a drawback on some of the others. Too bad as I surely would have enjoyed them. What intensity! What gifts these singers possess! As with Russian litergical music I was moved to the core by the pureness and strength of the voices.

A wonderful buy; you really can't beat the value of this CD. The songs are amazing and really give off that aura of Soviet pride that runs through most of the Red Army Choir's music.

Red Army Choir

VERY disappointed in this album. They should learn how to mix their music. Some is so soft you can't hear and some so loud your ears fall off. Playing this in the car you constantly have to use the volume control up and down to hear properly. If you're wearing ear phones, it's almost impossible to enjoy. I had high hopes for this album, unfortunatly they did not come up to my expectations, due to the bad sound.

Much of the group's repertoire, including such tunes as "We Are the Red Cavalry" and "Song of the Volga Boatmen," has passed into Russian folklore. In a review...
