A masterpiece!!!!!

I know this may offend some people who are out of touch with reality, but Quincy Jones is the most "Do Nothing" producer in the history of music. If you take the time to read the liner notes on the Albums he's most known for, including this one, and the Michael Jackson trio he was credited with, you will not see him listed as a songwriter or even a musician like you would say "James Harris III & Terry Lewis (aka Jam & Lewis or Flyte Tyme) who are responsible for a number of hits in the 80's and 90's. But the one talent that "Q" undoubtedly does posess is his ability to assemble very talented people to work together. First and foremost is the inclusion of Louis Johnson, previously of the Brothers Johnson fame. His bass lines are the foundation that the best tracks are built upon. There are so many artists, singers, musicians, song writers involved in this project that it's unfair for his name to be on the title when you weigh in what little he actually did contribute. Nonetheless, this is one of the greatest collections of songs ever put together. They simply don't make music like this anymore. But then again, when is the last time you heard of a great collaboration of truly talented artists? Not recently, unless it was old school like this......

The Best Album of all Time! (so far, at least!)

No matter what you day is like, put this one on and you'll feel better. Getting an MRI? Doing a chemo treatment? (now that's a bad day all right!) ....plug this one in to make the pain go away and the time fly by. . Play it at the dentist, in your car. It's a classic. Quincy Jones, the genius at his best. The artists at their all time best. Twenty years later, and nobody does it better! Great Listening!

In a musical career that has spanned seven decades, Quincy Jones has earned his reputation as a renaissance man of American music. Jones has distinguished himself as a bandleader, a solo artist, a sideman, a songwriter, a producer, an arranger, a film composer, and a record label executive, and outside of music, he's also written books, produced major motion pictures, and helped create television series. And a quick look at a few of the artists Jones has worked with suggests the remarkable diversity...
