Written and composed entirely by Michael, Faith encompasses a full range of moods and themes, from the shimmering gospel-soul of “Father Figure” to the sticky funk of “I Want Your Sex.” At a compact nine songs, the album avoids any filler, but its crown jewel remains the title track: a frisky, updated Bo Diddley riff that will always sound completely thrilling.
