Customer Reviews

It's an alright CD with a few really good songs

It combines the agressive death metal vocals and chug chugs with nice melodic riffs and good vocals. Age of Ruin does a good job overall, and they sound better than most other bands in their genre, so I say buy Face the Loss, Phantoms in the Photographs, So Sends the Rat, and The Bitter Taste of Betrayl.

Rip off

The "Jupiter Sunrise" is such a rip off of Three Doors Down "Kryptonite"

First off- Derrick still isn't singing, so it still isn't as good as it used to be. Second, The music itself remains awesome- it's the lyrics that are holding them back. The writing is okay, the clean vocals are less than impressive and the lead vocals are decent enough, but not offering a whole lot. This pales by comparison to older releases such as Autumn Lanterns and the first album (which is still better than the remastered version with bonus tracks for whatever reason). Back to the drawing board.

While true grindcore is amelodic and is played at an insanely fast tempo,...
