Love this album!

Jerrod really has come a long way from Judge Jerrod and the Hung Jury! I'm so proud of him! This album is fantastic, brilliant and amazing! :) Bravo my friend!

Less Used To Be More

I am a huge fan of his older songs like Bakersfield and Old School New, which stayed pretty close to being country. Even so , I wasn't expecting something severly traditional or steel and fiddle strong, because that's not his thing. But I most definetely wasn't expecting him to turn out a record completely consumed by a brass section. I respect his artistic approach, but I don't understand it. The song, Whiskey Kind Of Way, was originally recorded by Zona Jones, who is extremely traditional concerning his music. The arrangement of the song on this record completely takes it where it doesn't belong. Whiskey Kind Of Way is a steel and fiddle song, not a jazz number.. Furthermore, I would have been happy with a few tracks being jazzed up, but making the whole record revolve around the same overpowering idea really makes each song a blur and a bore. I shall return to his previous efforts, and enjoy the mixture and wait for country to return....someday!!
