iTunes Review

Jason Castro’s third album shows how far the singer/songwriter has come since his flower child–like charm earned him a fourth-place finish on American Idol's seventh season. While he continues to radiate positive vibes in these tracks, Castro shows a new maturity as a vocalist and tunesmith. He continues the explorations of his Christian faith that began on his sophomore album, What I Am, with upbeat pop/rock numbers like “I Believe,” “Rise to You,” and the title track. The thoughtful “If It’s Love” and the smile-inducing “Good Love” find him tackling modern romance with clear vision and a warm heart. The recent birth of Castro’s daughter provides inspiration for the nurturing ballad “Enough.” “The Same Kind of Broken” (a vivid sketch of everyday life, featuring Mariah Peters on guest vocals) and “Safehouse” (a call to end human trafficking set to a pulsing piano-centered track) expand his reach into social commentary. Producers Ben Glover, David Garcia, and Matt Bronleewe allow room for Castro’s acoustic guitar and occasional ukulele while keeping the arrangements sleek, sparkling, and radio-friendly.

God Dared Him to Move and He Moved!

Jason has arrived!! This may have be his "3rd" album but this is the real deal. His songs of the true "good love" given by Christ and giving us the confidence to "rise to you" (God) because in the end its "only a mountain" is just a BEAUTIFUL sound in anyone's ear! Thank-you Jason for revealing your faith and sharing the blessing of a voice God has given to you. STAY THIS WAY.

A Fan & Your Fellow Brother in Christ.

Call it Christian, if you must

I just call it a wonderful collection of songs that have meaning for everyone, and sung by a man with the most addictive voice. Beautiful job, Jason!

Good but...

Don't get me wrong, I love that he's doing Christian music, but musically I feel this album lacks the creativity of his first (self-titled) album. Why can't he play that style of music with Christian lyrics. This album sounds the same as everything else on Christian radio currently.

Full marks for staying true to your faith, but I give this only three stars based on just the music.

With an acoustic guitar, dreadlocks, and a flower child disposition, Jason Castro spun his singer/songwriter appeal into a fourth-place finish during American Idol's 2008 season. Castro was the first artist to play an instrument on the show, and he used his guitar skills throughout the competition, accompanying himself during laid-back performances of "I Shot the Sheriff," "Daydream," and "Travelin' Thru." Although he ultimately finished behind rivals Sayesha Mercado, David Archuleta, and David Cook,...
