Interesting direction

This song isn't terrible but I really really hope the rest of IV will be brutal enough to outweigh this "softer" side of Maylene. This song and the song they released on Revolver's site, "In Dead We Dream" were hopefully only released so they can get some radio attention or something... I'll just keep thinking about the softer tracks they had on previous albums and how they flowed well with the rest of the album those songs were a part of. Hope this is the case here.

Well..... That's a new direction

Been listening to these guys since the self titled debut, seen em three times in concert, love em. Not sure how the album will turn out, if they will mix this style w old or if they are ditching the Southern rock/ metal vibe for the more masses friendly rock genre. You can hear moments of the maylene we know in the drops, but those few moments are all that's familiar from II and III.... Still I like this song and will jam to it. And hey, at least they didn't go pop reggae like LP.

Meh

Not diggin this tune.... I enjoyed the other track released from IV, In dead we dream. This might be an oddball song such as Listen close in III, except that had some southern to it. This... is just... rock?.. i dunno. Hoping the rest of the album will be brutal.

Although they share Underoath's hardcore roots, there's an old-school vibe to Maylene and the Sons of Disaster's sound that suggests the generation of 1970s boogie...
