Customer Reviews

I have been listening to some of the available songs on the myspace link. It's amazing how good this album is. Kyuss, Slo Burn, Unida, Supafuzz fan. Biased? Sure I am but I know good music. The previous two Hermano albums were awesome as well. Straight ahead rock, great riffs, a few great acoustic songs. I already know the lyrics to most of the songs. Just to give a heads up on the standouts, although the entire album is suggested, would be KENTUCKY, EXAM ROOM, LEFT SIDE BLEEDING, BONA FIDE, ADOPTION BOY. Buy it all.

real rock

Yup, Here it is. Real heavy rock. Not the stuff you hear on the radio. I truly wish it was. J Garcia is the real deal. Holds up to the best rock singers ever. Here is is backed by great music. Hard to beat. Big nasty rock. Good songs, Great singer.

Kicks mucho @#%!

Discovered these guys fairly recently via a complicated "tracing back" process - became a fan of Josh Homme's Queens of the Stone Age, then through his history, I discovered the almighty rock band Kyuss, featuring the mighty bass lines of Pepper Keenan, the pulsating guitar work of Homme, and of course, the soaring, attitude-driven vocals of John Garcia. I liked Garcia's voice, so wondered what happened to him after Kyuss broke up; that is when I stumbled upon the song "Left Side Bleeding" (my favorite song out of the album). Alas, I found modern Hard Rock salvation in Hermano. The band is just one of a select few who stand to show this post-Indie world that "heavy" Rock & Roll never died - it was merely resting, like a slumbering giant. From intro to outro, the songs gallop and roar like an Amercan muscle car tearing down a California freeway towards the sunset. If you want pure, unadulterated, soul-tingling rock music, then Hermano is definitely worth checking out. May the heaviness return to Rock & Roll, by the efforts of bands like Hermano.

Years Active: '00s

More a one-off project than a real band, Hermano remains most noteworthy for featuring vocalist John Garcia of Kyuss fame. Garcia, who was also recording with Unida around the same time as Hermano at the end of the '90s, gives the group much of its character, though it's also worth acknowledging that the remaining bandmembers are also established: bassist David Angstrom (Supafuzz, Black Cat Bone), drummer Steve Earle (Afghan Whigs), and guitarists Mike Callahan (Disengaged) and Dandy Brown (Orquesta...
