Viva la Hasselhoff!

The music is horrible, but this album gets 5 stars for the Cheeze factor. Did Hassellhoff actually think it was cool to title his album Night Rocker? Did he dress like he was John Oates on purpose. I hope he didn't pull a William Shatner on us and start spoofing himself. I prefer to think that he actually thinks this is cool.

A veritable TOUR DE FORCE!!

There are singers, there are crooners, there are songsters, and then there are people who sound like an angry donkey rutting a broken radiator. David Hasselhoff belongs to this last group. His vocal flow is like a volcano of pus, exploding and drenching all who listen to his melodies. The squeaking of his leather jacket when he dances creates an arhythmic syncopation of noise to accompany his own. You can almost smell the leathered friction. The song "Hot Shot City" is particularly good.

Hasselhoff Opens Up.

I am the Night Rocker. This tour de force is a massive step forward for Hasselfhoff. It is a window into his mind, and dare I say, a glimpse of his heart. Between the bookends of "Night Rocker" and "Let it Be Me" lie the scars of unrequited love, guilt and fame. He mixes the sounds of yesteryear with his edgy lyrics of today. He reaches out to the masses as he sings, "...reaching out each from our separate worlds...." His introspection is difficult to accept at times; it can be painful. WARNING: THIS CD IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. If you have never sat on the couch of a therapist and opened the wounds of a failed relationship or confronted your various demons, this may hurt...but maybe, hurt so good? Hasselhoff guides us through the discovery of love in "Our First Night Together," questions that discovery in "Do You Love Me?" then establishes that this is "No Way to be in Love" and finally claims that someday he'll have "All the Right Moves." David, you already have all the right moves. Bravo! Five Stars!
