The Best Fernando Ortega Album

I am a huge fan of Fernando, but even I have to admit that this is his finest album to date. In addition to the classic hymns that are sprinkled throughout all Fernando Ortega's albums, the original work on this album is unparalleled...and I'm talking about the stuff that doesn't receive radio air play, though, it's good in it's own right ("Light of Heaven" and "Sing To Jesus"). The title song, "Storm", is a lyrical gem that allows the mind to explore all the meaning in the few words that comprise this song. Each time I hear the song I connect it to a new situation, a new setting, a new meaning. To me, that's the signature of a great song. "Our Great God", co-written with Mack Powell of Third Day, is nothing short of an anthem...a modern day hymn. In addition, it is a song that I could easily see a group with an edgier sound covering and making into a popular radio hit. Finally, "This Time Next Year" will find a place in the heart of any parent or grandparent. Every time I hear it I thank God that my newborn has three living grand parents that love him, but I also mourn the loss of the one that will never hold him in his arms. At least in this world. Buy this album...and every other Fernando Ortega album as well! :-)

Let all mortal flesh keep silence

Listen and absorb these words. It truly gives you a glimpse and feel of the heavenly host.....

Amazing

The hymn "Jesus Paid It All" is almost the worth the price of the album itself. Just aboslutely wonderful arrangement and powerful and reverent hymn. I just sang this at church today and was looking for it on Itunes and found Ortega's version amazing. The lyrics of ths hymn are very basic, but as my pastor said, we never ever forsake our need for the gospel. Very cross centered music!
