Hey Robert; what hat did you pull this out of ?!

These are NOT the chord arrangements of Robert Lamm. ( At least, not up until now ) This is music that we all have yearned for from Robert. Really; these arrangements are "now", in this moment and completely satisfying. If Chicago gets back in the studio and tables the big band and holiday stuff to do cuts like this, there'd be a bunch people 're-discovering' them all over again.

I don't know where he pulled this stuff from, not a hat, most likely a "heart" ! Every song is truly quite good. The best group of songs recorded to date (solo) by Robert. The ONLY problem with this is that now, the bar is set and anything less will hurt. My ONLY gripe is that I wish " 4 Bells " was a little bit longer. Say, oh, I don't know, about an hour! 8^P I fall into that song and, it's over. And "Living Proof" is just about the very best thing Robert's ever done. Magnificent chord changes and arrangement. You kinda get the feeling that I like this album, eh?

Really Wonderful Stuff !

Living proof that Lamm's still got it.

The once hit-making band Chicago has seen a decline in both popularity and integrity in the last few decades, which makes bandmember Robert Lamm's criminally-underrated solo career all the more remarkable. With solo albums such as IN MY HEAD, SUBTLETY & PASSION and THE BOSSA PROJECT, Lamm has been able to expand his sound in ways he couldn't with Chicago without completely abandoning the jazz-rock style that made him successful in the first place.

With LIVING PROOF, Lamm continues to chart his own musical path with an album that sounds far more akin to IN MY HEAD than SUBTLETY & PASSION. However this album finds him covering new ground; and long-time Chicago fans might not immediately adapt to the "electronica" feel of the music. The album is loose and Lamm sounds extremely confident; providing perhaps some of the best vocals he's ever delivered (particuarly on the title track and "Out Of The Blue"). His collaborations with Zosia work well. It's definitely a refreshing change of pace.

My only real gripe is that the album runs a little on the short side (the gem "Heaven In My Eyes" remains unreleased). Despite that, this album continues the creative upswing Robert Lamm has been on since the late 90's. Now if only he could bring this energy into a proper new Chicago album!

Exactly what I expect from Robert Lamm

This recording is exactly what I expect from Robert Lamm, Too bad Chicago couldn't get together with him on these tunes, these songs are so fresh and well performed. Every song sounds so alive so exciting. I'm a big Chicago fan from 70's and only wished Chicago be allowed to release this type of music.
"Keep The Faith" Robert ... one day!
