Good enough to lick the plate

Like a piece of chocolate cake. Fat, sweet and yummy! With the addition of Meshell's vocals being the chocolate icing on the cake!

Cute but tame

Migs is a sweet guy (I've met him in person once) and that's reflected in his music. He's a showman, always has been very professional about his craft. And you can tell in the production values that you get with this album.

But I just turned 40 and have been worshipping at the altar of house for 21 years. This album sounds like a castaway from the Nineties, ie., it's dull, you can't dance to it. If this were playing in a lounge I just walked into, I would walk out (I'm in NYC, I have choices)

If I had played this back in the 90s at a party, people (and myself) would dance to it. Nowadays, this would make good background music. The times have changed, party music has evolved (Yuksek, DJ Mehdi, but Migs hasn't--same with Kenny Dixon, Jr., same with Kerri Chandler. Something that's similar sounding, like Tortured Soul, is at least very dynamic and they go off on stage.

otherwise soulful, sure, housey, sure, etc.
