Queen Latifah delivers an album that is amazing. The fusion of rock, hip-hop, and pop is flawless on this album. The fact that Queen can sing and rap, both greatly, you never know when she may burst out with a rap or melody on some of these songs. I can put this album on and listen from start to finish. Also, I love the album version of "Cue the Rain." With the single version of the song, at the end, I yearned for more... And the album version did that. The 6 minute album version is amazing and a top favorite song for me, for 2009. The song "With You" plays as an extension to the song "Take Me Away (With You)," and it truley takes that song to an amazing trance level. WOW! This album is a top album for 2009 for me as well. This album deserves recognition and beyond. To note my top 5 songs from the album (in the order they appear on the album): Fast Car, Cue the Rain, Take Me Away (With You), Runnin, & Fair Wheater Friend.

Queen Latifah is M A ZING!!!

This album rocks!! I love it!

Great, under-promoted album.

I love this CD. Didn't even know it was out already (since iTunes doesn't have it listed under new releases). It's technically a Rap CD, but it has a perfect blend of R&B, Pop, and Techno even. Great club songs and some meaningful tracks too. Hope she releases a video for a couple of the songs. I love "The Light," "Hard to Love Ya," "Runnin'," and my absolute favorite, "People."

Queen Latifah was certainly not the first female rapper, but she was the first one to become a bona fide star. She had more charisma than her predecessors, and her strong, intelligent, no-nonsense persona made her arguably the first MC who could properly be described as feminist. Her third album, Black Reign, was the first album by a female MC ever to go gold, a commercial breakthrough that paved the way for a talented crew of women rappers to make their own way onto the charts as the '90s progressed....
