Editors’ Notes

Tucson via Seattle’s Supersuckers celebrate twenty years of rocking their lives away with their first studio album in five years. Get It Together employs the band’s surefire brand of country-punk, bucking up on powerfully charged electric guitars that take full advantage of the stereo soundscreen as the twisted licks curl through the stronger than average songwriting. That’s the band’s secret ingredient. For all their loud bravado and live experience, the band hits the studio knowing full well the true power is not the volume, but the songs themselves. So tunes such as “She Is Leaving,” “What It Takes,” and “I Like It All, Man” balance between the heartfelt and the frivolous, settling on catchy choruses meant for instant gratification and which sound great emerging from the stereo, yet with an ear for the stage. The guitar solos are quick and satisfying, as on the climate-raising “When I Go, I’m Gone.” And there’s even a ballad, “Breaking Honey’s Heart,” that aches with the parched Arizona desert of their previous home looming in the background.

Not their best

Not a bad album, but this is too "tame" for the Supersuckers. Also, about half of these tracks are either from their '06 Mid-Fi sampler, or they were previously released in some capacity. I was excited to hear more NEW tracks. I guess I was just hoping for another "Evil Powers of R'nR" or "Sacriligious Sounds" album.

If you don't like this, you have no soul. If you don't buy it, you have no business calling youself an American.

Classic Supersuckers!

The Supersuckers bring it! Hard working, self-promoting, and ready to Rock-N-Roll. "Get it Together" is a thier first release in awhile, and the boys don't disapoint. If your a fan, you'll love it...if your a first-timer, give 'em a try and find out what the "Hardest Working Band in Rock-N-Roll" is all about!!!! Highly recommended!

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Something of an anomaly on the Sub Pop roster, the Supersuckers bore a limited surface resemblance to grunge, but they were a party band at heart, donning cowboy hats and kicking out a gleefully trashy brand of throttling, rockabilly-flavored garage punk. Their lyrics were a raucous, over-the-top celebration of all the attendant evils of rock & roll -- sex, booze, drugs, Satan, and whatever other vices the band could think of, all glorified with tongue planted firmly in cheek. Save for an abrupt...
