Yes Yi Can (and Cera’s no slouch)

I spent the better part of last Friday night listening to all of the VERY multi-talented and Paper Heart star, co-creator and co-writer Charlyne Yi’s vast catalog of music online (this is what you do for fun on the weekend when you’re a 39 year old married suburbanite). To say that I thoroughly enjoyed ALL of the music would be a severe understatement, so even though I’m a CD loyalist (you get pretty stubborn like that when you’re almost 40), I downloaded the Paper Heart soundtrack immediately afterwards as the CD is not scheduled to be released until September 1st of this year (and I’m more impatient than stubborn). And, no big surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed the soundtrack as well.

Although the lion’s share of the music on the Paper Heart soundtrack is credited to the equally VERY multi-talented (not to mention HIGH-larious) box office golden boy Michael Cera as well as Alden Penner and many other terrific and gifted songwriters, Charlyne’s presence is clearly heard and felt throughout each song on the soundtrack. I have not seen the Paper Heart film as of yet but I have no doubt in my mind that I will love it just as much as (if not more than) the throngs of people who have posted glowing reviews for the film online.

This soundtrack is definitely ALL Charlyne. I love it and I love her.
