I am Stuart Davis

This is my best album, period. I should know, I'm Stuart Davis. I personally gaurantee this CD and all its contents. Producer Alex Gibson? Genius. If you don't buy this album, I won't just give up on being a musical artist, I'll have to forfeit my station as a human being. It's that simple. This album deserves purchase. Let's celebrate it into our trikaya party. Are you open to the Mystery? This collection of songs will expand the aperture on your I-balls. Thanks to Alex Gibson, Nate Jenkins, and Rupert Hine, Love makes another agile maneuver toward the center of the Labyrinth. That's ¿What's What?

Stuart has done it again. Karen Blixen meets Kierkegaard in song. The golden tones (Glass) sexual fusion (AC/DC) opus dei wanna be mix (Easter) and exposed heart (Murder/Suicide) of this danish poet boy will WHAT? transform...that's what. See him live and your satori will be realized!

Stu's latest goes beyond the before

Stuart sounds as if his lyrics and musicality busted through the studio roof, wrapped around the building like a solar skin, and then he and his collaborators just started to draw on the radiant forces all around. This is Stuart's most polished and versatile album, owing to the amazing synergy of everyone who helped in the production of ?What, including spoken-word samurai Saul Williams and Producer Alex Gibson. To describe Stuart Davis's work is to depict an artist who has pursued a life and a vision of love and keeps turning it into musical shapes that disturb, evoke, connect, and awaken with that love (just in case some of the song titles deter you). Sonically the album speaks for itself. Stuart's work has been consistently creative and as genuine as he can be, and his discography shows as much personal as musical evolution. Check out the samples of 'AC/DC,' 'Glass,' and 'Voodoo Dolls' to start, then just cave and buy like you know you want to. Sample 'Universe Communion' from his "16 Nudes" live album for a sense of his younger work, and 'Sexy Messiah' from "bell" for a taste of his first effort with producer Alex Gibson. I think they're both available from the Store.

Lakeville, MN, native Stuart Davis is an alternative folk-rock singer/songwriter with a yen for esoteric topics. (In the past, he has drawn influence for his songs from the Tao Te Ching, the Tibetan Book of the Dead, and transpersonal psychologist Ken Wilber.) Growing up, he was influenced by the sounds of Elvis Costello, Richard Thompson, XTC, and Bob Dylan. In 1990, he released a cassette-only album that picked up some airplay in Minneapolis. He followed that in 1991 with the album Idiot Express....
