Album Review

The perfect band for Roadrunner Records, Chimaira takes nu-metal syncopation and ideology, balances it with hints of death metal's angst-overdose (vocalist Mark Hunter has a distinctively brutal screech), and punctuates it with a more-than-expected electronic influx to create a fairly unique sound. The experimentation doesn't take away from the heaviness or accessibility, however, as the Cleveland group takes Fear Factory's noise to another level of intensity. ~ Brian O'Neill, Rovi

the album itself has been my favorite chimaira album since its release, but now that i can get it with all the extra tracks is effing sweet. thanks itunes!

where are the reviews!?

chimaira is one of my all time favorite bands. each album has its own stand alone greatness but one thing that stands out more about this LP is its timing. This stood out beyond any album and till this date holds its own. with their new LP age of hell out you can easily say over 10 years have passed and this album is still stomping my mind. songs like lumps and Sp LIt have piercing vocals and crushing riffs where dead inside and options show off the vocal ranges of mark hunter that people may forget on newer work that this band wasnt all about being metal and constant drum kicks. as a perfect example and till this day one of my favorite songs from any band is jade. Starting off with distorted guitar melodies picking up into dark poetic verses blending high screams into soft vocals finishing off with creative digital trance accompanied by a distant female vocals. a must buy, DONE!
