Album Review

The partnership of Canadian guitarist Kim Mitchell and lyricist Pye Dubois produces a strong, third post-Max Webster release. Sounding more confident than ever with his singing, Mitchell demonstrates real stylistic range, all written by himself and his partner. There's the VU meter-abusing "Get Lucky" to kick things off and, later, the piquancy of budding childhood romances in "Patio Lanterns." Peter Fredette contributes sympathetic singing backup.

Patio Laterns

This is one of the all time great summer time songs. Brings me back to teenage memories. Love it great song.

Not as good as it's predecessor and not as heavy either. Very heavy on the keyboards and synthesizers and not enough guitars. I really like about half the album, with the songs That's The Hold, Get Lucky, In My Shoes, Alana Loves Me and Hitting The Ground. Only two of these songs really rock out. I hate the song Patio Lanterns, which never should have been released as a single. And the rest...mellow and forgettable.
