Staying the course.

Communic's third album, Payment of Existence is not a departure from their previous two releases. This is definitely not a bad thing. The first two albums are packed full of blistering Power/Prog/Thrash metal done in a way and with the kind of power that few acts can muster. The vocals are all clean, which is a little different for most bands playing this hard these days. The guitar playing is technical, fast and creative, the drumming intense. I cannot say enough about how brilliantly this band works. Payment of Existence picks up right where the last two left off and is one brilliant listen from start to finish. It is all good, though I'm going to call "Raven's Cry" as the standout track. At least it is for me, for the moment.

Communic makes me happy once again. And I couldn't have thought up a stronger opener to an album.

The best so far...

I will be honest and say that the firt two albums by communic did not grab me in a big way. BUT, they were enough to put them on my radar, so when I had the chance I previewed Payment of Existence. WOW. This album shows a great deal of maturity with big hooks, great riffage, and more of it's own identity than the first two releases. I HIGHLY recommend this release!
