History preserved

I love listening to this. Textbooks don't do this philosopher justice. I've heard him referred to as a "stand point" sociologist. Which seemed to me to indicate that Dr. DuBois is considered to be an informed constituent of his demographic, and that his views are specific and limited to that sub-culture.

That is a horrible definition to place upon him. I think of him as a full fledged sociologist, who perhaps had to conduct his study more as an outsider looking in. And I am not referring to blacks looking at whites from the outside. I mean that he was more an outsider watching the interactions between colored people and whites of his time. He is a very intelligent man, who weighed in his mind the cost to him to speak up for the issues of racial disparity.

I like his gentle nature and his heartfelt views on equality. I hope that life as it is now, is an improvement and perhaps the good Doctor would approve of our growth and society. And on to the continuance towards equality for all. (Not that it matters, but I am white. And my guiding doctrine is that hatred has no home with me.)
