What a pleasant finding..

Happened upon this group just by browsing iTunes. I looked up their website and saw that they're actually a full band, and pull this sound off very well live. The album itself is very homogenized.. you can easily lose track of where a song begins or ends. There aren't any tracks in particular that truly stand apart from the rest, but that's part of its charm. It sounds very deliberate and focused, with heavy percussion offset by acoustic guitar with the right amount of glitch flavor—They new what sound they wanted and executed it very well. The most enchanting parts are when the rare strings will sweep in with grand melody. I'll be playing this on loop for a good while I think, and I'm really interested in seeing what these guys do more of in the future. I think they can consider this sound and dynamic well-explored, and I'd just hope that they push themselves twice as far for the next work. Don't get comfortable in this sound.. you've nailed it. A gift of an album. You've got a fan here. Cheers.

Refreshing New Sound

These songs have an amazing uniqueness to them. It is almost as if Death Cab for Cutie decided to make a CD without lyrics. It has soothing melodies, random yet refreshing instrumentation, and has just enough "oomph" to keep you bobbing your head in unison with the song's timing. I anticipate hearing more of Ultre's productions.

His best material yet.

Calm, gathered, endlessly intriguing. Thanks for the great tunes, Finn.
