Peaceful music and words

This album is aptly named- every song is so relaxing and peaceful. I never thought I'd like to listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, but now as a mother of young children, I find myself wanting to listen to these songs - especially when I'm having a rough day and want something uplifting and inspiring. My favorite song is "Come, Let Us Anew" Listen to the words and you can't help but feel at peace and want to be more Christ-like.

Gorgeous

I'm not a Mormon, and I have zero interest in their religion, but their choir is wonderful. What sets this album apart from many other Mo tab albums is that it seems programmed for quiet, meditative moments. I think that those looking for New Age or ambient music would love this because this is perfect for a period of contemplation, resting after a rough day, or napping.

Solace enfolded in the wings of Christ

As I lie here in the middle of the night, unable to sleep; twisted visions of my grief o'ertaking me, wracking me with sobs, I cry out to my God as the Psalmists did - praying for the peace that passes all understanding, praying for a song I could sing that would help drown out the painful visions and words plaguing me, and bring my focus to the almighty God.

Little did I know that I would find an entire album that not only sings with me in my grief, but to me in comfort and encouragement. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and orchestra are truly an ensemble of angels, wrapping me in the wings of Christ and soothing me with one of God's most beautiful gifts to His children: music. Praise God for this album and and every individual who made it happen. It shall be my comfort.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir made their public debut on August 22, 1847, just 29 days after Brigham Young and his 147 followers first settled in the Salt Lake Valley. John Parry was named the choir's first official conductor in 1849, and two years later, construction was completed on the first Tabernacle church, followed in 1867 by the dome-roofed Tabernacle facility which still exists. The 150-member choir assembled for the facility's October 6th opening was at that time the largest in the U.S.,...
