Album Review

The Ocean Blue's Beneath the Rhythm and Sound is something of a breakthrough record, with the bouncy pop single "Sublime" finding its way onto Billboard's modern rock charts. Leaving behind the mellow minimalism of their first two records, the Pennsylvanians gave their ethereal music a brighter, glossier sheen on this record — sounding a good deal like Morrissey without the mordant wit.

Customer Reviews

Brilliant

Fresh, catchy tunes, thought provoking ballads. Like the past two albums, listenable from start to finish. This band never dissapoints. Love 'em!

TRIPLE CROWN!!!

For me the first three cds from The Ocean Blue were their best with all four original members. This cd was amazing from start to finish.A must have and a timeless classic. Andre

Not the best...

Simply put, this one doesn't stack up compared to Cerulean--their best, though it has some nice tunes with a more than decent finish. Their debut was better than this one but it lacked the post production polish. This might upset a lot of fellow fans but I have to say that Sublime is probably the weakest track lyrically Schelzel has written period. Musically however, like much of the album, its solid. Download tracks 5--'Bliss Is Unaware' to 11--'Emotions Ring' and call it an EP.
