Two Classic Albums for the Price of One(ish)

When I first reviewed this seven years ago, I praised False to the high heavens and labelled Erase as an experiment in musical terribleness. Now that I've matured as a metalhead, I've come to appreciate Erase a lot more. It's still not quite as good as the godly proto-melodic death metal juggernaut that is False, but it functions well as Gorefest's Clandestine. They bring in some progressive rock influence and slow things down a bit without getting too silly. Really, the worst part about the album is that opening baseline, which sounds a bit Corn-y, if you get my drift. Apart from that, it's a collection of classic tunes. Highlights include the doomy melodic Seeds of Hate and the speedy throwback Peace of Paper (see what they did there?). The bonus tracks are fun too, particularly the Kraftwerk cover.
