MY Show...

I am the ultimate guide to the music of UWP... there isn't ONE song I don't know from our 45 year history. ALL the songs on this CD are great, and one of the rare recordings from our group that offers music from our global community. Personal Note of Pride: the songs I solo'd on during my year were "Rock 'N Roll Is Gone For Good", "Earth Ship" and "Moon Rider".

FINALLY - A BLAST FROM THE PAST

I was always a fan of Up With People, having hosted, worked and followed them for years. Sometimes the songs are out dated and somewhat corney today, but it is so amazing to see this on iTunes. This brings back great memories of a great group doing great things.

Musical entertainment touring group Up With People was founded in Tucson, AZ, in 1965 by one J. Blanton Belk in response to the growing number of protests and demonstrations spearheaded by the nation's youth. In its original incarnation, the nonprofit included a leadership curriculum and overseas study program in addition to a song-and-dance troupe that spotlighted the talents of performers aged 18-25.
