Album Review

A re-recording of some of the favorite songs from Sesame Street, this recording should appeal to all fans of the TV show, young and old. McGrath's easygoing voice immediately puts listeners at ease. The variety of styles includes jazz, pop and Dixieland, but whatever the style, it's all familiar territory, and soothing while engaging. Faves include the jazzy take on the Sesame Street theme, "Sing" and the duet with Mr. Hoots on "Put Down the Duckie." Maybe it ain't easy bein' green, but McGrath makes it seem like it is.

Duckie

As far as Rubber Duckie goes, Ernie sings it better!

My Favorite Street Songs, Too!

Wow! I'm 38, and remember these Sesame Street songs from way back when! Bob McGrath has the smoothest, most welcoming voice that just says "everything is going to be alright". My favorites on this album are "Sing" and "Somebody Come and Play"; these two songs could be playing on the stereo at home for the kids, or performed for a sophisticated cabaret audience without a second thought. Well done Bob!
