Customer Reviews

This album rocks! Combining jazz with electronica, South Africa's Goldfish creates an eclectic blend of pop, world, funk, etc. I am so glad to see this album here!!! A quick review of songs... 1. Sold My Soul - don't really have a strong feeling of this song yet. I think it's in a foreign language. 2. This Is How It Goes - Almost sounds like lounge music that you'd hear on a Paris Beat CD. I like it a lot - although it does take a while to get started. Guess that's why the Radio Edit is also provided. The simple beauty of the wordless melody provides a perfect foil for the bounce of the following tracks. 3. Fort Knox - This is the song that this album will be remembered for. 4. Hold Tight - Resembles early Philip Glass 5. Wet Welly - Instrumental track. It does seem to drag on a bit, but, like Ravel's Bolero, interest is maintained in how the material is stated rather than through the addition of drastically new material. 6. Cruising Through - One of my favorites on this album. 7. Just For Tonight - Might be the sexiest song I've heard in a long time. Can turn your car into a mobile club. 8. Are You Lulu - Again, a primarily instrumental track. Slow to get going, but it does have a good beat. The jazz influence shines through here. 9. Soundtracks and Comebacks - Again, stretches of this remind me that Goldfish likes Jazz improv. 10. Coming Home - Chillout track to end the album proper. The remaining tracks are the casual-listener-friendly versions of This Is How It Goes (primarily removes lengthy introduction) and Cruisin Thru.

Goldfish is the next Big House Group!

Imagine the next big house group coming from South Africa, and not France. Since house music has taken off, many groups with few exceptions sound a lot a like. Goldfish breaks the mold, with soothing downtempo elements mixed in with house beats. One of the best albums to be released in recent memory, and an amazing one to just drive too. Dave, thanks for getting this on here, and Itunes thanks for putting this great group up for all too hear. For the price you can't beat the deal, must buy. I reccomend Soundtracks and Come Backs to get you started and go from there. What a truly amazing song. Keep it up!

Fantastic Album

I first heard "Fort Knox" on the Kia Commercial and fell in love with the song. So glad itunes has the album because every track on it is wicked awesome. It's so good to hear real musicians that show a love for their craft and it shows on this album. Buy it, you won't be disappointed!
