Album Review

Singer and songwriter Tristan Prettyman delivers a fresh set of personal yet impassioned songs that bridge the gap between folk and pop influences on this seven-track EP. Back to Home finds Prettyman recording as an independent artist again, after a decade of recording for major labels, and the songs reflect a sense of freedom and openness, as the songwriter deals with personal matters of the heart as well as the larger issues of bringing positive change to the world. Songs include "Waves," "Who We Are," "Open Up Your Eyes," "Perfect Storm," and more.

Songwriting that strikes you, heart & soul

Surprise- Tristan Prettyman has a new album! (Yes!) No surprise- it's INCREDIBLE. Some of my favorites (but they are ALL great): "Who We Are" starts soft but is so enchanting it brings a tear, or more, to your eyes and is fantastic lead into the album. It sounds like wedding vows in magical musical form. "Open Up Your Eyes" feels like a playful, breath of fresh air that is hard NOT to sing along to. "Casualty" tells a willing story of falling so happily, giddily in love you want to listen to it over and over. "Back to Home"… just, yes!! This would be my own favorite for a single; something to listen to that makes you feel good from head to toe with a captivating melody and lyrics. "Perfect Storm" reminds me a bit of "Simple As It Should Be" from Tristan's Twenty Three days but more developed and full, but still carries that positive vibe that makes you put it on repeat. (Hell, the whole album is on repeat with me!)
Notice a theme here? Tristan's music tells a story and connects with her listeners in a powerful way- she effectively strikes an emotional cord. This entire album feels so filled with love its hard not to picture her pouring her heart out in song, 100% happy and fulfilled and passing that feeling along to the world.
If you haven't seen her live… do so as well!! She's possibly better in person than on her albums.

Love it

love the songs. and this has one of my favorite album covers as well
