One of the best!

This really Old 97's back in full form after a few hit-and-miss years. That they would put out an album this powerful so far along in their career is amazing. For me this ranks in the top 3 Old 97's albums along with Wreck Your Life and Too Far to Care. Except for 'Manhattan (I'm Done)', which is just OK, every song here is razor sharp and insanely catchy. I couldn't stop playing this over-and-over when I first got it and I still do! Can't wait for the next one!

Great second half of double album

This is where they put the more experimental songs that show the band cutting loose from the format and stretching their skills. I personally like the Vol 1 a tad more but this is a such a fun album. This album also contains one of my favorite songs by the band since "Jagged". "Brown Haired Daughter" is such a great song out of the vein of Fight Songs.

First to Review

I've always wanted to be the first review of anything, so here I go, my moment in the sun....
The old 97's are from Fort Worth, my home town, so that's cool.
The old 97's write good songs, so that's cool.
The old 97's put those songs on this album, so that's cool.
Therefore The old 97's album The Grand Theater Vol. 2 is cool.
If you're cool you will buy this album and also think it's cool.
So this has been my first album review ever and it's the first one for this album and that's cool.
Anyways I hope you thought it was cool.

Although they became one of the most enduring bands in the alternative country-rock catalog, Old 97's drew inspiration from a broad range of genres, including the twangy stomp of cowpunk and the melodies of power pop. Formed in 1993 by frontman Rhett Miller and bassist Murry Hammond, the group spent the bulk of the decade posed on the brink of mainstream success, issuing albums that often drew warm reviews but never yielded a substantial hit. Old 97's tightened their sound as the decade drew to a...
