magical indeed!!!

A worthy followup to M&TM. I actually ordered this disc from Phil's website because I was too impatient to wait on itunes, but I have not stopped listening to it. Phil's ever present phenomenal guitar work, plus the little bits of instrumentation that made M&TM unique. It's classic Phil and that's not a bad thing. "The Journey Home" has to be one of the most beautiful melodies I've ever heard. It's simple but it doesn't have to be 500mph on the fretboard to be profound. "Waltz" is excellent. "Forever to Joy" is also quite good, but for the record to be enjoyed the most, you have to listen to it in it's entirty. Don't hesitate, click buy, this disc rocks!

Phil is one of the great guitarists!

You need to see Phil in concert. One of the masters of music, using his guitar. His voice has a Paul McCartney sound. And his runs, accoustic sound effects, and guitar mastery is a sight to behold. This work reflects Phil's guitar sound, and is worth adding to your Keaggy collection.

Disappointed...I love Phil..have for 30 years, but...

This album might be good in its own right...Really, I have to give it a chance. I'm hung up over the title: Master & Musician, Vol.2. With all respect to Phil and to you dear listeners, I think I am missing something with this one. This recording is not in the same stature as MM of 30 years ago. It lacks that spark, the creative motion, and the overall concept. Who produced this one? I love Phil, love his music, and I'm a professional guitarist myself. I mean no disrespect here. Keaggy is one of the singular best guitarists of the past 40 years. But falling back on riffs, loops, and little drum machine grooves just doesn't cut it for me. Phil has put out some amazing recording in recent years. This is not among them. BUT, if you are a Keaggy fan, BUY IT ANYWAY, after all, it's Phil!

Phil Keaggy is an excellent all-around guitarist who has been a part of the CCM scene for over two decades. Born and raised in Ohio in a Catholic family of ten, Keaggy always loved music and spent hours listening to such singers as Johnny Ray and Elvis Presley. He began imitating the latter as young as age four. Keaggy was also exposed to other kinds of music and became well versed in classical. His first guitar was a late-'50s Gretsch Anniversary model; at age ten his father bought him a Sears Silvertone,...
