Album Review

On the prime-time musical soap opera Nashville, Chris Carmack plays Will Lexington, who stands on the fringes of the Music City due to his position as an openly gay country singer. On his own, Carmack isn't so revolutionary, as his amiable 2015 debut EP, Pieces of You, proves. Bright and easygoing, Pieces of You is straight down the middle of mainstream country-pop in the mid-2000s: melodic, tuneful, and slightly soulful, preferring smooth, mellow grooves to outright parties. It's an appealing sound, one that suits both the slight '80s throwback of "What Has Changed" and the simmering slow burn of "Pieces of You," and Carmack is equally ingratiating, never pushing too hard, and always letting the songs occupy the center stage.

Can't wait to hear more!

Love this EP Chris! Great tunes, great guy, and this is on repeat! Loving it!! Lee

It was a long...
