iTunes Review

"Get rich, or die trying." 50 Cent introduced this credo to the world and then pulled it off, surviving multiple gunshot wounds on his way to accumulating millions. Having been loaded for more than a decade, 50 now waxes like Gatsby on the opening verse for Animal Ambition, rapping about the trappings of wealth over a dusky soul beat. He's less contemplative on tracks like "Pilot" and "Irregular Heartbeat," which sport compelling boom-bap beats over which he snarls and boasts, spinning street yarns as if he were still making his way there. Meanwhile, the zealous synth stabs and Trey Sonz guest verse on "Smoke" remind fans that 50 has always known his way around da club as well as the corner.

Return Of 50 and real hip-hop

Good, solid overall album. Obviously not GRODT but better than Curtis and BISD.

The bonus tracks are fire. funeral might be my favorite track on here. Reminds me of Power of The Dollar 50. The track with Schoolboy Q is catch.

Hold On is a a classic NY street song. Chase Da Paper goes hard. Pilot and Smoke are catchy.

Solid album overall. Support it and real hip hop.

Looking forward to Street King and Beg For Mercy 2

This album was just as bad the pitch he threw out last week at the mets game

Though he would later struggle with the nature of his fame as well as market expectations, 50 Cent endured substantial obstacles throughout his young yet remarkably dramatic life before becoming the most discussed figure in rap, if not pop music in general, circa 2003. Following an unsuccessful late-'90s run at mainstream success (foiled by an attempt on his life in 2000) and a successful run on the New York mixtape circuit (driven by his early-2000s bout with Ja Rule), Eminem signed 50 Cent to a...
