WARNING! This is a re-recording! Stick with the original!

The original "Planet Rock" will always be a dancefloor favorite, but this is a RE-RECORDING of the song, and it has lost ALL of its cool. The vocoder effects are different, the vocal performances are weak, the Kraftwerk sample was replaced by someone playing the synth line (using the sample was what made this song notable when it was first released since it was one of the first popular songs to feature a prominent sample), and most of the remixes are just plain boring. The REAL original is the only version you need!

Dance Dance Revolution

All these songs are hippin and hoppin so much that I have to get my freak on 3 times.

Awesome remake!

Bambaataa & The Soul Sonics did a GREAT job recreating their '81 hit here! I personally like this remake better than the original because of the clearer vocals & instrumentals, due to the more modern equipment used here to create & record this version. ALL the remixes are hot, too. Don't forget to buy the 1992 Planet Rock remix EP for the rest of the story, or most of it anyway; those remixes are hot, too! Maybe Apple can eventually convince Tommy Boy records to release the 2001 "Swordfish" movie remixes by Paul Oakenfold, Westbam and the remix team of Chris Cox & Keith "KLM" Litman, too. Peace Out!

A seminal Bronx DJ during the 1970s, Afrika Bambaataa ascended to godfather status with Planet Rock, the 1982 hip-hop classic which blended the beats of hip-hop with techno-pop futurism inspired by German pioneers Kraftwerk. Even before he began recording in 1980, Bambaataa was hip-hop's foremost DJ, an organizer and promoter of the large block parties during the mid- to late '70s which presaged the rise of rap. After the success of Planet Rock, he recorded electro-oriented rap only sparingly, concentrating...
