Album Review

Although her goofy, thrift shop sense of fashion made her seem like a cartoon character at times, Cyndi Lauper was one of the bright spots in the early days of MTV, and her songs displayed a sharp, savvy pop edge that has given the best of them a rare kind of staying power, and they've held up better through the years than most songs from the new wave era. This set has all her key singles, most of them drawn from her wonderful first album, 1983's She's So Unusual. "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," "Money Changes Everything," "All Through the Night," the gorgeous "Time After Time," and "True Colors" — they're all here.

Customer Reviews

Great compilation -must have

This collection features some classics from Cyndi's first album "She's So Unusual", from "The Body Acoustic" which was hugely under-rated and her latest release "Bring Ya to the Brink" Every single track on this album is great! From "When You Were Mine" penned by PRINCE to the touching "True Colors" A MUST HAVE ALBUM.

I Love Cyndi!

Cyndi is amazing and I love all of her songs on this album! :)

Lauper's thin, girlish voice and gleefully ragtag appearance became one of the most distinctive images of the early '80s, which helped lead her not only to the top of the charts, but also to stardom. Throughout America, there were...
