Minimal Acoustic?...Never heard of it.

I spent one bored night searching through Kranky's list of artists and happened upon Boduf Songs. This is the perfect album if you're at the dilemma, "Should I listen to something ambient...or not?". Please don't make the mistake of buying only one song from this album, as the context of the full album is VERY important. The album's evolution is beautiful, haunting, and slow. As for the vocals, boduf songs reminds me of Mark Kozelek. He limits his range, but his performace perfectly matches the music. Buy this album.

Soothing yet unsettling

The mix of acoustic guitar and smooth vocals is met by cutting effects and creepy orchestrations. Songs such as Fall of Cherry Blossom in Long Shadows of Twilight and Great Wolf of No Tracks have pleasant, redundant melodies while That Angel Was Pretty Lame almost raises the hair on the back of your neck. Altogether, creative and insightful into the mind of a tormented soul.
