iTunes Review

The Lonely Island’s latest is packed with bite-sized songs that celebrate pop music even as they skewer it. “I’m So Humble” is so ridiculously catchy and well crafted that you can actually spin it alongside the hits that it parodies. The album’s communal absurdity welcomes Seal and Linkin Park, who gleefully (and accurately) mock the styles they’re famous for. Elsewhere, “Ibitha” aims at Latin-themed club styles, while “Finest Girl” follows a slow jam come-on to its irrational extreme. The short song lengths assure that no gag goes overboard. In every track, pure fun trumps mean-spiritedness.
