iTunes Review

How do you make a grand statement when you have nothing left to prove? On Post Pop Depression, Iggy Pop huddles with Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme, Dead Weather’s Dean Fertita, and Arctic Monkeys’ Matt Helders. The results are wiry, muscular, and shape-shifting, much like Iggy himself. His unctuous cool drips all over slow-burners like “American Valhalla” and “Break Into Your Heart." “Vulture” sounds like Iggy reading a twisted campfire story. “Paraguay” and “Chocolate Drops” are as poignant as they are profane. Nearly 50 years from where it all began, Post Pop Depression proves that the punk pioneer can still cause a ruckus.

All I want to do is tell Gardenia what to do tonight!

And that is to download and enjoy this right away. I cant believe this was kept secret and now its instantly unpon us and the albums first sigle doesnt disappoint! Get it love it and jam it loud!!!

Gardenia, So Far So Great

As I've heard only 3 songs, and am only allowed to buy "Gardenia" so far, so far so Great! Berlin era feeling, and Bowie'esque beauty to it makes it quite a great listen. I'm assuming from the help of Mr. Homme, Iggy Pop is back in fine form, well, at least "Gardenia". An instant Classic

Another great collaboration

Fantastic mix of raw grittiness from Iggy Pop and smooth riffs by Joshua Homme. The whole upcoming album shall be nothing of mind blowing.

There's a reason why many consider Iggy Pop the godfather of punk: every single punk band of the past and present has either knowingly or unknowingly borrowed a thing or two from Pop and his late-'60s/early-'70s band, the Stooges. Born on April 21, 1947, in Muskegon, Michigan, James Newell Osterberg was raised by his parents in a trailer park close to Ann Arbor, in nearby Ypsilanti. Intrigued by rock & roll (as well as such non-musical, monotonous, and mechanical sounds as his father's electric razor...
