Great picking and genre-busting arrangements

Depending on what mood you are in, this album might be bluegrass, it might be rock, and it might be something else all together. "Thief" has been one of my favorite songs since I first bought this record on cassette back in the day -- haunting vocals and beat-poet lyrics make you want to listen again and again. Rough edges and jangling guitar on "Western Man" and "Time Takes Away" make for solid listening, while the accomplished mandolin work on "Little Maggie" demonstrate the depth and variety available on this record. Think Wall of Voodoo meets Ricky Skaggs, and you won't be far off.
