A solid piece of rock....

THis venture, albeit not commercially accepted like a Whitesnake or LZ reunion, proves to deliver an astounding collection of music. This album is some of Page's best guitar work since LZ and Coverdale's vocals are circa late 1970's. These two men together seemed a perfect foil to springboard them back into a playing style that they felt they were missing for some time. A great collection of rock music is contained here. Whisper a Prayer for the Dying: reportedly written by both Coverdale & Page while watching the US Army attempt to push the Iraqi' Army our of Kuait during Desert Storm is a "monster" song. Lyrically and musically - you can envision the tanks and soilders in the desert. THis would have been a great song for the movie "Jarhead". Don't Leave me this way is a stright up - Blues jugernaught. A jem. Over Now, Pride & Joy, and Feeling Hot range in tempo from balads to rip your face off - Sex dripping songs. For early 90's rock - when the world was thinking Pearl Jam and the like, this collaberation snuck in under the radar screen and delivered a knock -out blow! Remove all your fears about this one-off venture and just listen.....

The most Led Zepplin sounding album since Zepplin

Page is amazing on this album and Cloverdale sounds great. I think this is better than any effort Plant or Page has done since their last Zepplin album, "In through the out door". Better than solo Plant, Firm or their '98 album together. Some may say it's a Zepplin rip-off, but dudes, Page is Zepplin. At least download Shake a Tree, Waiting on You and Pride and Joy.

I Wanted to Hate This Album...but Can't

Jimmy Page is awesome and David Coverdale's vocals are just right together on this project. Why can't Page and Plant sound this good together anymore. If you like Zep then this will fit into your collection nicely. I still hope for Page and Plant to Top this....please!

Genre: Rock

After all the accusations of David Coverdale "ripping off" Led Zeppelin in his group, Whitesnake, skeptics continued to raise their eyebrows when founding Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page united with Coverdale during the early ‘90s in the super group, Coverdale/Page. Although the collaboration was a fleeting one, it did spawn an album (which unsurprisingly, was very Zep derivative), and a smattering of live dates. To recap, Coverdale first came to the attention of rock fans as a replacement for singer...
