Now I have to go back and change my '06 top ten

This is a great spring CD, so I'm content with finding it four months after its release. Song titles ‘In the Countryside’, ‘The Desert’, ‘In the Woods’, and ‘Leaving the Nest’ and subtle acoustics give the album an unmistakably nature-oriented feel. Along with touches of the Renaissance (Robin Hood’s spirit seems to inhabit the artist) and humanism, the theme makes this album a very cohesive work. And at the same time, Ferree offers diverse songwriting talents, with energetic rockers as well as sweet ballads, and plants melodies in your mind with pretty much every song. There isn’t a bad track on the disc, and it is my pleasure to go back and revise my top ten from last year.

Besty Ferree

i first heard 'in the woods' and thought it was alright, but then days later i came to find the song was still stuck on my head and i had an unsatiable urge to hear it, again and again. So i purchased the song individually and filled my belly on it. When i finally bought the album (not downloaded it) it was one of my better music choices of 2006-2007! Its a wonderful album with a really raw feel to it, but oddly its quite refined and well constructed. For lovers of rock, folk and good country, this album is for you.

Excellent Live

I saw Benjy play at the Galaxy Hut in Arlington, VA a few years back and he was fantastic. This is a great album.

Canty ended up mixing his EP Leaving the Nest, which was released jointly by Planaria and Box Theory Records. Domino issued the record in November 2006 with additional...
