Jesus called....He wants His melodies back

Pas Neos won American Idol yesterday. And they weren't even contestants on the show.

PAS NEOS...DC4Cutie, you

Anyone familiar with Caleb and Bob's music is already aware of their intrepid musical creativity. Stretching alternative and electronic music into fresh horizons and avoiding cliches is what captivates me with this new album. There is a dynamic presence to the album (bpm's, vocal production, live/programmed drumming) that draws me further into each song with each subsequent listen.

I always try to take a week of incessant listening before a review and listen through various mediums (car, iPod, home stereo to detect frequency fluctuations) and the more I listened to the Wheat and the Tares...the more I was blown away. Unique layers of precision kept this from being a simple GaGa pop album or monotone electronic production.

Bob has treated us with a few of his trademark guitar licks and vocal reverb tricks while Caleb's mastery of synth programming perfectly navigates the fine line between signature sounds and fresh electronica...making this album an aural delicacy to be savored rather than consumed.

Lyrically, I like being able to listen to a song multiple times trying to discern the symbolism inherent--or relegating a bland lyrical attempt into the musical trash pile. This album gets 5 stars because of the maturity of it's lyrical themes concomitant with stellar musical production.

I had a hard time deciding on a favorite...but there's no doubt "On Their Faces" gets my DJ Hakdaddy gold medal this memorial day weekend.

Well Done!

Love this cd, so jazzed about it's release. They have done an amazing job making scriptural based music. Pas Neos is the real deal!
