Album Review

Following three successful EPs, Pulses is the debut album from American pop duo Karmin. The Berkeley graduates' exposure came from their cover versions of pop songs and reaching an impressive 200 million views on YouTube, putting them in good stead and eventually seeing them signed by Epic. The album features the urban 2013 single "Acapella" and the disco track "I Want It All." Writing credits on the album feature Boys Like Girls frontman Martin Johnson and pop songwriter Ester Dean.

Customer Reviews

I saw them live in Boston and they were AMAZING!! All of the new songs that they played sound incredible and the first two singles absolutely blew me away.

This album is going to SLAYYY

Karmin is an innovative force. I love them and everything they do. Can’t wait for this album!

Flawed but Fantastic

I'm a die-hard Karmin fan but Pulses definitely has it's low points. "Night like this" and "Try me on" are too generic to be good. "Gasoline" is a step up along with "What's in it for me". They push Karmins pop limits. "Puppet", "Drifter", and "Pulses" are must haves along with the previous singles "Acapella" and "I want it all". Over all Karmin proves their talent and diverse sound. If only they had moved past boring pop and continued with the fantastic sound of the rest of the album.

The pair met in 2006 at Boston's Berklee College of Music, where Heidemann studied songwriting, performance, and business, and Noonan was on his way to becoming a professional trombonist,...
