Eh.

The Heathens cover alone was pretty poor, but there were a few okay songs. Nothing special.

A few missed the mark

I throughly enjoy listening to this series of albums and believe most, of not all, are produced much better than their original. A few missed the mark and had me thinking the original was better and that it was a disappointment to the albums ratings. Note that the singing and instrumentals were not broken, just not a fit for what I believe most listeners are expecting. “Gangsta” by New Years Day, “When we were young” by Andy Black, “Heathens” by Boston Manor, and “Shape of you” by Eat Your Heart Out to name my low rankers. Please go back to your earlier and better albums 2/3/4/5.

So some of the songs on this album are Gorgeous Covers, possibly even better than the original. Then others are just.....
“Just what I like”, “Closer”, and “I can’t feel my face when I’m with you” are just bad. Granted, none of those songs were absolute art with the original artists, but I really didn’t think they could get any worse. Maybe it’s just my opinion, or the fact I’ve only listened to the album a little bit. Sometimes it’s the original song ruining itself and with other songs the covers just make it worse. Not worth purchasing the whole album, just picked a couple of songs I liked and bought those instead.
