iTunes Review

After 50 years of marriage, she’s more than ready to tell the truth about love. She recently renewed vows with Carl Dean—her husband since 1966—and now Dolly's celebrating with a set of songs that examine the subject of love in all its colors and complications. The understated acoustic arrangements only strengthen the Smoky Mountain Songbird’s underlying authenticity. With nothing left to prove, she’s one of the last country stars who handles a well-traveled theme with nothing but hard-earned wisdom and unburdened honesty.

Customer Reviews

Lovely voice, lovely lady.

What the hell, L.O.G.?! Learn to write and express yourself correctly so you make sense. Dolly's lilting voice soars as always on another great collection of songs. Looking so forward to seeing her in concert in December!

A Welcome Return To Form

Dolly announced this album as a deluxe "Greatest Hits" package with new tracks. Her previous work has been so anthologized that I'm glad she was obviously talked into changing that release schedule to this single release of all new material and she's in her element. Simple accompaniment to support her lyric writing skill and to compliment her unique voice that deserves to be the focal point. Like her bluegrass efforts, let's hope this is a new phase and it'll feature a series of releases.

You go Dolly! Keep it pure and simple!

At 12 years old, she was appearing on Knoxville television; at 13 she was recording on a small label and appearing on the Grand Ole Opry. Her 1967 hit "Dumb Blonde" (which she's not) caught Porter Wagoner's ear, and...
